About the series
Jim dies and wakes in a game-like world, stuck in an old starting area that is no longer safe for beginners. A tiny demon is his unwanted companion. He needs to gain levels to survive his second life.
What to expect
The opening joke is also a survival problem: Jim’s starting area has been left behind by the world. Choose it if a confused newcomer dealing with an unhelpful companion sounds fun. The game rules give that problem a clear structure.
The audio
Johnathan McClain narrates. The current book 1 listings include an edition described as enhanced. Use the preview for the exact edition you plan to buy; its length and production may differ from an older copy.
Listen for whether the comic dialogue suits you over a long session. Enjoying the premise is not enough if the delivery of the jokes tires you.
Skip it if
You want a serious opening or dislike comedy built around an awkward lead and an unwanted companion. Medium stats also means some game information remains.
